# Using Registry and http for nsclient.ini

#1

Nsclient++ 5.0.62 x64

I am trying to get the http settings working correctly but currently I get this error-

C:\Program Files\NSClient++>nscp settings --switch http://server/nsclient/nscl ient.ini E settings Failed to download C:\Program Files\NSClient++/cache\nsclient.ini.t mp: Failed to GET http://server:80 302: c:\source\master\include\settings/impl/settings_http.hpp:96 E settings Failed to download C:\Program Files\NSClient++/cache\nsclient.ini.t mp: Failed to GET http://server:80 302: c:\source\master\include\settings/impl/settings_http.hpp:96 Current settings instance loaded: E settings Failed to download C:\Program Fil es\NSClient++/cache\nsclient.ini.tmp: Failed to GET http://server:80 302: c:\source\master\include\settings/impl/settings_http.hpp:96

I am able to open the file in the browser and I am able to telnet to the server via port 80 with no issues…

Can I just check aswell- If I use the http approach do I have to use the registry settings?

Also- it says on https://docs.nsclient.org/manual/settings.html that the refresh period is configurable… how?

Also- how are these settings set during install?

I want to use the registry and set the http location during install
